Daniel Anguilu
Artist and Activist
Daniel Anguilu began painting graffiti at an early age, using freight trains and walls around Houston, especially in the East End. His large-scale aerosol murals are inspired by his Mexican heritage and a passion for freedom of expression in public spaces. Anguilu has painted in cities across the US, Mexico, Peru, Spain, and Italy, and has traveled through Asia, Africa, and Central America to study pre-colonial art. Locally, he has shown work at the Mexican Consulate of Houston, Poissant Gallery, Aerosol Warfare Gallery, and the Orange Show, and has created pieces for Neiman Marcus, Converse, and the Houston Skate Park. Today, he focuses on collaborating with businesses and homeowners to bring art into Houston’s public spaces, finding broad community support for his work.

Nacho Sanchez
Artist and Art Educator
Ignacio E. Sanchez, known as “Nacho,” is a Mexican-American graffiti artist based in Houston’s historic Third Ward. His work draws heavily from culture, movement, and vibrant Latin American color palettes. What began in his youth as sketching and illustration evolved into large-scale graffiti and mixed media paintings using acrylic, ink, pastels, oil bars, and aerosol.
A graduate of the University of Houston with a degree in art, Nacho continues to explore new forms of expression, including carpentry—building custom frames and set pieces. He is also an art educator, teaching Pre-K through 4th grade at a local Catholic school, and has led youth art classes in underserved communities.
Inspired by his travels through Mexico and South America, Nacho’s recent work channels the energy, texture, and rhythms of cultural landscapes. His evolving style is rooted in real-life experience, with themes of transformation and movement at the core.

Kato
Artist
My life as an artist derives from various elements and techniques. As a child, I was always keen on art, especially cartoon characters. The true focus grew when I first discovered graffiti in my East Houston neighborhood at the age of 9. Although I did not have a clear understanding of the why, how, what, I was heavily intrigued. From then on, I grew admiration for letters and hip-hop culture.Through consistent trial and error I found my own level of discipline for it.
That adolescent curiosity remained into my adulthood. I began to refine it through a multimedia approach. Since then, I continue to challenge my inner child with freehand painting, portraits, graphic design and color study. My work has transformed into a plethora of versatility. The complexity of passion projects and private commissions have shaped the composition and balance seen throughout my work.
Now, my influence is drawn from bright color palettes, nature and vector style graphics. My approach varies from project to project but the level of cleanliness is always accounted for. Spray paint still remains as medium of choice and in my opinion, it allows for the best creative freedom. For canvases or smaller works, I lean on acrylic and brushes for a finer level of detail.
